This visualization allows you to explore the top 200 artists and songs worldwide, with a focus on the geographical distribution of their popularity. The map displays countries colored by the top artist or song for each year, providing a visual representation of musical trends across the globe. Hovering over a country reveals detailed information about the top artist or song, including their name, rank, and the number of streams.

Select either "Artist" or "Song" to switch between the two modes of visualization. Choose a year from the dropdown menu and click on a country to see the top 10 artists or songs for that specific year and as a comparison, the top 10 artists or songs globally.

Underneath the map, you will find a ranking chart that dynamically updates to show how the ranks of the top 10 have changed over the selected year.
