The Data

The data used on this webpage is collected from Kaggle. It is a dataset that contains wine reviews from the website Wine Enthusiast and was collected in the end of 2017. Information that can be found in the dataset is country, province, region, winery and vineyard of where the wine is from, as well as the grape variety, title, year, price and points of each wine and the taster's name and review description. The reviews are only of wines that have 80 points or more out of 100 and all reviews are done by sommeliers (wine professionals).

This goal of this project
We chose to only work with wines from France as most wine drinking people have most likely come across wine from France. France is the third largest wine exporting country in the world. This website is meant to be for wine lovers that want to learn more about wines from France. We wanted to keep the information simple and, at the same time, informative. This project is a part of the course Data Visualization at EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) and was created during the spring of 2020.

About us
We took this course during our exchange at EPFL. We are three students that worked on it:
